Works your way

Start by adding something yourself.

A line like 8.50 kopi is enough. Sarathy works out the merchant and the category, and you can correct either with a tap.

Then, if you want, it can capture more on its own:

  • On iPhone, a Shortcut. One logs Apple Pay payments on its own with nothing to tap; another sits on your home screen for everything else. Apple lets no app read payment notifications, so this and email are the ways in.
  • On Android, payment alerts. With the Sarathy app, the notifications from a short list of payment apps — Grab, PayLah, PayNow, DBS, OCBC, UOB, Wise, Shopee, Foodpanda — are read on the phone. Nothing else on the phone is looked at. Or share a payment to Sarathy from any app and it logs the same way.
  • Emailed receipts, if you connect Gmail. Read-only, and only mail that looks like a payment confirmation. What it finds waits for you to look at; if you choose, the clear ones go to your Ledger by themselves and anything uncertain still waits. Disconnect any time.

Every captured charge shows how it arrived, and nothing goes on the record twice.

What it isn’t

Sarathy helps you understand your money. It cannot move money or make payments.

It is not connected to your bank or your cards. It keeps the amount, the merchant, the date and how each charge arrived — not your messages, and not your mail. What it keeps, and why →
